ABU DHABI: Sheikha Alia Al Maktoum-led Ghantoot A emerged winners in the 13th edition of Pink Polo as equestrian activities returned to the sublime greens of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club (GRPC) once again.

Pink Polo Day, an inspiring initiative aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer in the UAE, was held under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the club and one of the major supporters of the game in the UAE.

The exhibition match, marking the start of the new season, saw Ghantoot A and Ghantoot B locked in a fierce contest, with sportsmanship and competitive spirit at their best throughout the four chukkas of play.The polo enthusiasts were in for a treat during the clash between the two Ghantoot teams. They both fought until the end in a thrilling neck-to-neck battle.

Naseer Al Shamsi scored four while Sheikha Alia, Mohammed Al Habtoor, and Fahad Al Qabaisi contributed one each as Ghantoot A edged past Ghantoot B 7-6.

Tariq Al Habtoor scored three, and Petra B Spanko, Yousof Bin Desmal, and Ali Al Marri added one each for Ghantoot B.

Khalid Saeed Al Marzooqi, Executive Director of the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club: “The event has grown over the years with a great impact, and we are pleased to be contributing to raising awareness for this important cause.

Saeed Bin Hoofan Al Mansouri, Vice Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, and Khalid Saeed Al Marzooqi gave away the prizes.

ABU DHABI: The 13th edition of Pink Polo Day will mark the beginning of the 2022–2023 season at the iconic Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club (GRPC) in Abu Dhabi.Taking place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, Pink Polo Day is an inspiring initiative aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer in the UAE and the wider region.

Sheikh Falah said: “The Pink Polo Day initiative falls in line with the club’s community role — to support women’s health through fitness activities, seminars, and various services that motivate them to take care of themselves and to be able to care for their families.”The details of the event and the new season were disclosed in a press conference held at the Jannah Burj Al Sarab Hotel in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

The event is scheduled to take place on November 5 with the Ghantoot A Polo team facing the Ghantoot B team.Ghantoot A Polo team features Her Highness Sheikha Alia Al Maktoum, Fahad Al Qubaisi, Mohammed Al Habtoor, and Nasser Al Shamsi.Rashid Al Falahi, Petra B Spanko, Yousuf Bin Desmal, and Ali Al Marri round out the Ghantoot B lineup.

Khalid Saeed Al Marzooqi, Executive Director of the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, said: “Pink Polo Day will definitely help raise awareness about breast cancer. Such events are an integral part of the policy at Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club.

“We have been working with our committed sponsors, friends and patrons of Ghantoot to make this event a success,” he added.On November 26, an exhibition match to mark UAE National Day will take place after the Pink Polo event.Later, the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club will host the prestigious Emirates Polo Championship International from December 7–17.Adding another charitable event, the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club will host a Red Crescent Polo match on January 7, 2023.

The next event in the club’s calendar is the Sultan Bin Zayed Polo Cup, taking place from January 23 to February 4, 2023.The Sultan Bin Zayed Polo Cup will be followed by Al Amal Polo Day, which is scheduled for February 18, 2022.

The highlight of the UAE polo season, and one of the UAE’s most-anticipated tournaments, is the HH President of the UAE Polo Cup, slated for March 6–18, 2023.Saeed Bin Hoofan Al Mansouri, Vice Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, thanked the sponsors for supporting the club’s initiative.

Ghantoot Polo Team wins the Pink Polo Festival Cup

The Ghantoot A team won the title of the “Pink Polo” Festival, which was organized by the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club at the Sheikh Zayed Main Stadium, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the club’s president, after defeating the Ghantoot B team. With a score of 8/6, after an even match that heralded a busy season for the club, the stronghold of the Emirati polo.

And led by Ghantoot / A / to the Golden Cup, Her Highness Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the list included Abdullah bin Dasmal, Faris Al Yabhouni and Maxi Malaklaz, while the list of Ghantoot / B team included Sheikha Alia bint Marwan Al Maktoum, Fahd Al Qubaisi, and Ahmed Ali Al Nuaimi Majil Daily, and the match was refereed by the national team consisting of Nasser Al Shamsi and Youssef Bin Dasmal.

The end of the festival witnessed the presentation of many entertainment programs with the participation of the Abu Dhabi Police General Command (the Musical Band), the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, as well as the launch of pink balloons and the participation of many performance teams that the audience enjoyed.

ABU DHABI: After the successful last season, the iconic Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club will open the gates for the 12^th edition of Pink Polo.

To be held under the generous patronage of Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, the Pink Polo Day is an inspiring initiative aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer in the UAE.

The event is scheduled to take place at the club on November 5 under the Covid-19 health and safety protocols laid down by the UAE authorities.

Taking place in association with Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the traditional season opener also marked the resumption of equestrian activities at the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club.

Sheikh Falah said: “The initiative is aimed at raising awareness about the disease. Teams representing different clubs will play exhibition matches to mark the Pink Polo Day.

Ahead of the Pink Polo Day, the club organised a lot of online awareness sessions for the breast cancer awareness month—Pink October.

The sessions were held in association with Land Department Dubai, Ministry of Finance, Ajman University, Khawarizmi International College and Apparel Group.

The club reached around 1000 women and provided free mammograms scans for all women about 40-years in collaboration with Ministry of Health & Prevention and Reem Hospital.

Ghantoot A to face Ghantoot B in exhibition match which hopes to raise awareness about breast cancer in the UAE and through the message of sport Event happens behind closed doors; and will be broadcasted live.

The Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club (GRPC) , the UAE’s only Royal polo facility, are enthusiastically looking forward to launching their 2020-2021 polo season on Friday, November 6 by marking Pink Polo Day with a high-quality exhibition polo match.

Some of the UAE most experienced polo players will be joined by leading Argentinian professionals in the match which will be the first to be played at the Abu Dhabi-based club, since sporting activities in the UAE were curtailed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the 11^th anniversary of Pink Polo Day, a popular annual charity event dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer through the message of sport. The match will be not open to the general public.

Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club was created by His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in 1994 as a private sporting venue and is currently supported under the patronage of his son and principal patron, His Highness Sheikh Fazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The club, which boasts international standard grassed polo fields, also offers world-class equestrian facilities.

Pink Polo Day will be held under the strict COVID-19 protocols and safety regulations laid down by UAE government and health authorities; the game will be behind closed doors and can be watched via website.

Zayed Khalifa Zayed Al Aboudi Al Zaabi, Executive Director of the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, and the club’s driving force was eagerly looking forward to the resumption of polo activities at the venue.

“The strategic goal of the Pink Polo Day is to spread breast-cancer awareness among the local communities by offering positive insights into its treatment and follow-up care,” said Al Zaabi.

“Through its social media channels Ghantoot has helped raise awareness and highlight the factors associated with the increased risk of the disease.

The initiatives were supervised by a group of experts for our medical team, motivational speakers and public figures,” Al Zaabi added.

“The campaign also included several virtual awareness activities, such as publishing educational posts on social media accounts, motivate women to adopt healthy lifestyles to prevent cancer and to create an educated society that is aware of the dangers of disease and ways to prevent it,” he said.

“The activity is in line with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention’s strategy to promote healthy lifestyles and deliver comprehensive and integrated healthcare services in innovative and sustainable ways. This is aimed at improving the outcomes of the national indicator reduce cancer mortalities which is one of the goals of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021,” concluded Al Zaabi.

Yas Properties Scored an Exciting Win Over Ghantoot in the Season Opener

Pink Polo Exhibition match marks the start of a historic 2019-2020 season at the UAE’s Royal Polo Club, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

YAS Properties Polo Team celebrate on the podium after winning the Pink Polo Exhibition match at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club. They defeated Ghantoot Polo Team six goals to three in a match played over four chukkers.

A Royal start to the proceedings at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, which was buzzing with anticipation and festivity last weekend. The overall theme was to raise awareness for breast cancer and to support the community through sport.

The club could not have wished for a better start to the landmarked new season when it hosted the tradition of the Pink Polo Exhibition match at their state-of-the-art polo club in Abu Dhabi last weekend.

This was the 10th edition of Pink Polo Day, an event which hopes to raise awareness for breast cancer through sport and by bringing the whole community together to support each other in coping and dealing with the illness.

The highlight of a day filled with exciting activities and entertainment was the polo match between YAS Properties Polo Team and the hosts, Ghantoot Polo Team. Victory went to the visitors who scored six goals against the three by Ghantoot.

Ali Al Marri stole the show with a high-level display of polo, during which he scored a goal in each of the game’s four chukkers.

He was well supported by Yousef Bin Dasmal, who scored two goals, with the two women in the team, HH Sheikha Alya Al Maktoum, and Petre B Spanko, providing them all the support on the field.

Abdullah Bin Desmal top scored for Ghantoot while Khalid Bin Drai also put his name on the scoreboard., Maryam Al Hassani also showed she can mix it with the men with a good display of horsemanship.

Petra B Spanka saluted the spirit of the players on the field and described the match and atmosphere at Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club was thoroughly enjoyable.

“In Ghantoot, they always do things so perfectly,” she said. “The arrangements and activities were well planned and it was good to see so many VIPs and dignitaries attend the event to support breast cancer. It means a lot.

“It was easy to play a game of polo, which can be rough and tough, in such a wonderful atmosphere and I think we all really enjoyed ourselves.

“I was happy and privilege to be invited to play on the YAS Properties Polo Team alongside HH Sheikh Alya, who is not only an amazing woman but a skillful polo player. It really was an honour to play on her team together with Ali and Yousef,” she added.

“There was a lovely team spirit and I enjoyed every minute of the game and the different horses that I was privileged to ride.

“I am also very happy to see more and more ladies playing polo as it brings a new element into the game. Here’s to many more years of Pink Polo.”

Pink Polo Day is supported by Yas International Investment, Yas Capital Investments, Yas International Developments, Maserati Premier Motors, and La Roche Pharmacy.

The activities also feature a demonstration by the Abu Dhabi K9s dog unit show, jiu jitsu, and more after the traditional Balloon release ceremony.

There were several marquees at the venue where women could undergo random tests for breast cancer and the reassuring message that was delivered was that the treatment in the UAE is free while the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) also encourages all women in the UAE, nationals and residents to avail of the screenings for the early detection of breast cancer. An interesting feature of the match was the participation of women players in both teams.

Ghantoot teamed up with Maserati Premier Motors to drive breast cancer awareness

More than 15 Educational Institutes, Government Offices and Facilities and Embassies were visited by a team to discuss issues related to the illness and the treatment available in the UAE.

Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club joined hands with Maserati – Premier Motors, in an awe-inspiring initiative to raise awareness about breast-cancer in the UAE, for the 4th year.

Officials from the UAE’ only Royal Polo Club were accompanied by senior members of Premier Motors in a special kind for Pink Polo Campus Tour that visited educational institutes, government offices, and civil defense facilities to promote the ideals of battling the disease.

Among the places visited by the team, were the Civil Defense, Al Ain Women Police School Administration, Dubai Women’s Association, Dubai Courts, Abu Dhabi University, Zayed University, General Authority of Sports and the British Embassy.

Discussions took place on the awareness and diagnosis of breast-cancer and the treatment available in the UAE as the country.

Screenings in the UAE are free during the pink October while the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) also encourages all women in the UAE, nationals and residents to avail of the screenings for the early detection of breast cancer, during October through many health sectors.

Excitement and anticipation is building as the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, the only Royal polo club in the country, as it embarks on a historic season when it hosts the traditional season opener – Pink Polo Day on Friday, November 8.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club since it was created by His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the UAE in 1994 as a one-of-a-kind private sporting venue.

Over the years, Ghantoot, which is ideally located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, has played host to Royal families, visiting Kings, famous personalities and some of the world’s best polo players.

It is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and exclusive polo clubs in the Middle East, having created a niche for itself in the world of polo.

Currently celebrating its 10th year, Pink Polo is an inspiring initiative aimed are raising awareness about breast cancer in the UAE.

In recognition of Ghantoot Polo Club’s 25th anniversary, its Chairman, Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: “I am proud and humbled to celebrate this wonderful landmark which would not have been possible without the efforts of our management at the club, the polo laying fraternity and the community that support us.”

#PINKPOLO — An Annual Event in Support of a Worthy Cause

This year 2018, Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club launched the 9th edition of Pink Polo Initiative; the most awaited polo event and the first one in the polo season calendar for the club. The Pink Polo event was open to polo fans, families, and children, and welcomed everyone into the club with almost everything in pink to depict full support for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Pink balloons were released and soonafter, a marching band, went onto the field to kickstart the game. Two teams have participated, in which one being led by H.H. Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The game between the two polo teams was truly captivating and the audience really did have fun and enjoyment in witnessing the game.

The proud sponsors of the event; Premiere Motors Maserati, have been truly invested in aligning their brand for this awareness drive. It is their third year of being part of this event with Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club.

Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club makes sure that the event attendees of Pink Polo will always experience a family-friendly atmosphere or environment while also representing the true cause of the event. The club had open areas for children with activities and food to keep them entertained and overall had a great time at the event. Moreover, free mammogram vouchers and health assessments were provided by the health partners; Beverly Hills Medical Clinic, The Pink Caravan, and also Al Rahba Hospital.

The Pink Polo event was supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council together with other partners. The event was indeed properly organised for the attendees to have a fun-filled experience on watching the prestigious polo match including the other activities prepared for them. Some of the attendees were also awarded for having the best attire for the event, having the best hat, and having the cutest pet styled in pink.

In the coming years, the club will continuously provide the supporters of this initiative with the best experience during the event and aim to become known as one of the biggest supporters of this cause throughout the region.

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club launches the 9^th edition of Pink Polo Initiative 2018

Starting the season with the most awaited polo event that took place at Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club on 2^nd November 2018. With everything pink to represent an important cause, i.e. Breast Cancer Awareness, the Pink Polo event was open to families, children, and of course our polo enthusiasts to catch some sporting action.

The polo match opened with a pink sky as they released pink balloons followed by a marching band on the field to kickstart the game. The polo match between two strong teams, with one of them being led by HH Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was an intensely captivating yet fun game enjoyed by the audience.

Maintaining a family-friendly environment, there are open areas for kids’ entertainment and food. Most importantly, there were free health checkups and mammogram vouchers organized by the health partners like The Pink Caravan, Beverly Hills medical clinic & Al Rahba Hospital.

There have been various initiatives to support health topics and this event is undoubtedly a clear reflection of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club’s commitment towards the cause and most importantly, bringing the community together to be a part of such initiatives.

This is the third year; Premiere Motors Maserati are proud sponsors of the event and have been very invested in the opportunity to align their brand to an important cause that deserves support and attention in the region. With the extended support of Abu Dhabi Sports Council and other partners, Pink Polo organized a fun-filled day for friends and families to enjoy a prestigious polo match, among many other activities to help raise breast cancer awareness. Such initiatives bring about remarkable changes to our community.

What is a polo event without some style inspiration? We definitely went home with some major style looks to be channeled this season. The event closed with fun surprises for winners of best dressed, best hat and cutest pet styled in pink. Pink Polo Day kept the entertainment going for families, kids, fashionistas, polo fanatics and of course the pink supporters on the weekend. We would love to see more from #PinkPolo initiative in the coming years to highlight worthy causes in the region.

PINK POLO RETURNS WITH AN EXCITING NEW SEASON IN 2018 AT GHANTOOT RACING & POLO CLUB

The highly anticipated Polo event of the year will be held at Ghantoot Polo & Racing Club on 2^nd November 2018.

Pink Polo Day returns for a brand new season on 2^nd November at Ghantoot Polo & Racing Club packed with sporting action, fun, food & entertainment. An initiative led by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and supported by the Health Authority and the General Authority for Sports, the Pink Polo day is held each year to support and raise awareness on Breast Cancer in the region.

Now in its ninth year running, the full day event will see a Polo match held between two powerful teams lead by HH Sheikha Maitha Bent Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and local polo players what is touted to be a truly enthralling game along with a host of family friendly activities taking place at the club including free health checks in the pink clinic; awareness lectures; medical examinations by professionals as well as games for children, best dressed prizes, food & beverage stalls, carrousel and pink souq surprises and lots more.

Proud health partners, The Pink Caravan, Beverly Hills Medical Clinic & Al Rahba Hospital will be conducting free health checkups for all attendees on the day as well as providing free mammograms vouchers throughout October in line with the Department of Health’s strategy. Supporting the Pink Polo Day initiative again this year, Maserati Premier Motors are renewing their partnership with Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club for the third year in a row.
