The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, who is one of the major supporters of polo in the UAE.
Al Amal Polo Day is an initiative of the Ghantoot Club that attempts to raise awareness and build support for children of determination.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Mohammed Bin Khalid Al Nahyan were the prominent dignitaries who graced the occasion. Ghantoot A team led by Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Khalifa Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan edged past Ghantoot B 4-3 in a thrilling clash, which coincided with the 10th edition of the Al Amal Polo Day.
Other members who contributed to the success of Ghantoot A team were Nasser Al Shamsi, Cezar Crespo, and Alfredo Capella. Expressing delight over the success of the Al Amal Polo Day, Zayed Khalifa Al Aboudi Al Zaabi, Executive Director of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, said: “The event was extremely successful like the previous years.
“Ghantoot Club has a long history of giving back to the local community and we thank all those who joined us in our efforts to raise awareness on children of determination,” he added.

HH Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Khalifa Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan will be the main attraction as he makes his first appearance in a charity match in the 9th edition of Al Amal Polo Day at Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club on Friday.
The event is an inspiring initiative to raise awareness and build support for children with special needs.
Al Amal Polo day is held under the banner of Year of Zayed, a milestone year which marks a century since the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, who passed away in 2004.
This year’s edition of Al Amal Polo Day will feature some of the UAE’s best polo players and two highly regarded guest players, Grand Slam and Masters heroes Martin Donovan and Bautista Beguerie from Argentina.
The event will also be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, who is one of the major supporters of polo in the UAE.
Among the leading UAE polo stars are Fares Al Yabhouni, Ali Al Marri, who will play alongside Sheikh Tahnoon and Donovan in Ghantoot A, while Ahmed Bin Desmal, Youssef Bin Desmal and Nasser Al Shamsi are joined by Beguerie in Ghantoot B.
The players have reinforced their commitment to support worthy causes like children with special needs and hope that Al Amal Polo Day will help raise public awareness while lending encouragement to youngsters with disabilities.

Polo enthusiasts were treated to an extravaganza of entertainment when Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club hosted the 8th edition of the annual Al Amal Polo Day on a beautiful Friday afternoon and evening.
Spanish dressage shows featuring flamenco dancers, an equestrian art exhibition, a kids fun village, pony rides and magicians were all part of the special activities to mark the poignant event whose central theme was to raise awareness about children with special needs and create a fun day for them at Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club.
An initiative by Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, Al Amal Polo Day, promotes the principle of embracing and supporting children with physical as well as learning disabilities.
Over the years, Al Amal Polo Day has led to a positive shift in the general attitude towards special children and also helps to mobilize resources for the support of Al Ain Centre of Care and Rehabilitation.
The highlight of the event was an exhibition polo match played between the visiting Royal Cavalry of the Sultanate of Oman and the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club.
After an entertaining spectacle of exhibition of field polo, packed with audience participation, the hosts won by six goals to one.
All four players representing Ghantoot, Abdullah Bin Dasmal, Ali Al Marri, Yousaf Bin Dasmal and Nasser Al Shamsi put their names on the scoreboard during an impressive display of polo. Al Marri was the only player to score a brace, when he scored two goals in the second chukker.
Khalil Al Bulushi ensured that the Omanis went home with a consolation goal, when he scored a beauty during the third of the four chukkers.
